Japanese Short Shorts to host ‘The Blue Bed’

Iran short ‘The Blue Bed’ is to screen at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan.

Iranian short film ‘The Blue Bed’ is scheduled to screen at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & Asia) in Japan.

Written, directed and produced by Alireza Kazemipour, the short flick will be in competition with around 200 other short works from around the world at the 22nd edition of the Japanese event.

The film narrates the story of a girl who has taken a wrong path in her life and gets visitors at home.

One day things start to change for her when a woman walks into her house.

‘The Blue Bed’ has been already screened at a number of global events and won awards, including the Best Directing at the 10th Vancouver Short Film Festival in Canada.

The film has also won three nominations at the 2020 Leo Awards in Canada, including the Best Screenwriting Short Drama, Best Direction Short Drama and Best Short Drama.

The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia is accredited by the Academy Awards and is one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, according to the official website of the event.

The program aims “to introduce people with various backgrounds and share their lives and emotions to spread the importance of giving a hand to people around you, and realize how wonderful and grateful we are to live in peace,” the website of the festival reads.

This year’s edition of the SSFF & Asia, which will hold online over the COVID-19 pandemic, is slated for September 16-27.
